My name is Ruby-Leo Raven (they/them). I conduct readings using the Rider-Waite Tarot deck and Nordic Runes. I have a background in the study of political science and ancient civilisations.
I have found both tarot and runes to be very helpful in providing guidance. While tarot provides in depth and detailed guidance whereas runes provide more direct and straight forward guidance.
One aspect of the tarot that I find particularly important is how it describes the limitations of viewing masculinity and femininity as dualistic.
While on first appearance the Rider-Waite deck appears to follow social conventions, tarot provides much scope for interpretation, both gender and sexuality conveyed in tarot is very fluid.
For example, one of my favourite cards the Devil card depicts constrains placed on all people by social structures such as expectations around gender and sexuality. However, the chains on the two people are very loose and they make a choice to free themselves from their chains.
